Episode 49 – Dan Helmer for House of Delegates District 40

This is my second podcast interview with U.S. army veteran, captain in the army reserves and business consultant Dan Helmer who ran in the Democratic primary for Virginia’s 10th congressional district and is now running for Virginia’s House of Delegates, District 40. In 2017, Donte Tanner narrowly lost his race against Republican Tim Hugo. Dan, seasoned from his last race, is excited to get Donte’s backing and is currently working hard to help Jennifer Wexton win the 10th before he pivots to the not-that-far-away 2019 race.

Dan discussed Northern Virginia’s transportation needs, voting reform, education, the environment, prison reform, common sense gun laws. We covered a lot of ground in 25 minutes. Have a listen.

2019 will hopefully be the year the Democrats take back the house of delegates AND the Virginia senate!
